At Ten27 Ministries our members are focused on helping one another, our neighbor, church members, members of our community and our mission partners. We believe we are all part of God’s family and should look after one another as Jesus had commanded. As a community of believers, this involves sharing our spiritual gifts. the gifts of stewardship and in giving back a portion of what we receive from our daily labors.

In 1 Peter 4:10-11 (ESV) we learn: “As each has received a gift, use it to serve one another, as good stewards of God’s varied grace:11 whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen.”

Giving was always meant to be a joyful expression of our thankfulness, our obedience to God and our way of showing praise for all He has done for us.

2 Corinthians 9:7: “Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (NIV)

We see several examples in the Old Testament where God’s instructed believers to give a tithe, or portion equal to a tenth of what they had.  This ten percent represented the first, most important portion of all they had. The New Testament does not suggest a certain percentage of giving, but rather asks for each of us to give “in keeping with our income.”

In the New Testament, 1 Corinthians 16:2, (NIV) the Bible tells us: “On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made.”

At Ten27 Ministries, It is our belief that believers ought to give according to their ability.

Rather than taking collections as a part of any of our worship services, you will find an offering boxes discretely placed near our entrance.

Everything  we will ever own, everything we have, comes from the Lord. So, when we tithe, we are simply offer back a small portion of the abundance the Lord has provided for our use.

“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows.” James 1:17 (NIV)

In the book of Acts verse 20:35 (ESV) it is written: “In all things I have shown you that by working hard in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he himself said,” “It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
