Passion … Or …

Passion … Or …

I always roll my eyes when I’m at a church and people recite a liturgy in a monotone voice, like there’s no passion. Quite often people sing hymns without reflecting on the words – they sing because that’s what’s next in the program. And as sad as it sounds, that seems to be the situation at almost every church.

And they were calling to one another: “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Almighty; the whole earth is full of his glory.”  At the sound of their voices the doorposts and thresholds shook and the temple was filled with smoke.  Isaiah 6:3-4
Can you imagine praising God with such vigor and excitement that at the sound of it the doorposts and thresholds shake? Our passion for God should be clear with every syllable we utter and every expression we make.
Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise-the fruit of lips that openly profess his name.  Hebrews 13:15
